Woman Waxing

Want smooth, silky skin without cuts and irritations? Tired of ingrown hairs? Do you value your time and want to forget about shaving all the time? Then take a closer look at waxing. Read on to find out why waxing is so popular. How long will the result last? Is it painful to do the procedure? Is it possible to wax at home?

Features of Women's Waxing for different Body Zones

Waxing is a method of hair removal with melted wax. It gets rid of vegetation on any part of the body. If you regularly remove hair with wax, they will become noticeably thinner, softer and will grow slower.

Bikini area

The skin in this area is delicate, sensitive and prone to irritation. Many nerve endings are located here, as well as the epidermis borders with mucous membranes. The price of a mistake is high - trauma, burns, infections, and inflammation. If you don't want to take risks, we recommend you get the hair removal done at a spa center, and not at home.

The hair in the bikini area is dense, stiff, coarse and thick. They grow in different directions and have deep roots. Shaving often causes irritation and has a short-term effect. The smoothness is already lost after a couple of hours.
Unlike shaving, waxing removes the hair together with the root. The result lasts up to a month. Hard wax (hot wax) is suitable for intimate hair removal. It captures the hair better and reduces pain.

Varieties of bikini waxing

  • Classic Waxing (French)

    • Only the hair extending beyond the underwear, on top and on the sides (lower abdomen, inner thighs) is removed.
    • Quickly performed and gives a minimum of discomfort.
    • Suitable when you need to remove excess vegetation in the bikini area, but you do not want to remove it all at once or are afraid of pain.
    • It is often used for women who have not done waxing before. This way the epidermis can gradually adapt.
  • Deep Waxing (Brazilian hair removal)

    • All hair in the intimate area is removed.
    • Allows you to wear any underwear.
    • Relevance - before the beach season.
    • A small stripe or triangle can be left in the front.

Feet and hands

The skin here is less sensitive and has a smooth texture. The hair is thinner and less frequent. Soft (warm, cartridge) wax is suitable for these areas. They can quickly treat large areas. It can be used on the entire surface as well as on individual areas such as thighs, shins, forearms or upper arms.

Underarms

The underarm area is characterized by increased sensitivity and sweating. The hair here is darker, stiffer and denser. For underarms, it is better to use a hard wax. It captures the short and stiff elements better.

Important!

The hair in the armpit area grows in different directions, which complicates the procedure. The wrong trajectory will result in the hair simply breaking off. The result is inflammation and ingrown hairs. To avoid this, contact a professional.

Face

The skin in this area is delicate and sensitive. The hair is very thin and short. Plucking them does not give long-lasting results. Waxing helps to permanently remove vegetation and smooth the skin without causing micro-damage, as can happen with shaving.

Waxing can be used to remove vegetation:

  • above the upper lip

  • on the chin

  • cheeks

  • the sideburns

  • the front of the nose

  • the supraorbital arches

  • bridge of the nose

Back and abdomen

The skin in this area is more resistant to wax and the hair is usually softer. Warm wax is more commonly used here. It effectively captures vegetation in large areas.

  • smooth and silky skin

  • stimulation of collagen production

  • minimal risk of ingrowth

  • hygiene, reduced sweat production

  • high speed

  • the price is lower than that of sugaring

  • stable results for up to 2-4 weeks

  • suitable for all areas regardless of hair color and thickness

  • works as a gentle exfoliation, deeply exfoliates and removes the keratinized layer

  • comfort - minimal pain

  • safety - no irritation or allergic reactions

Questions & Answers

Intimate waxing is not prohibited in pregnancy, but during this period a woman becomes more susceptible to pain. It is better to consult a doctor beforehand.

How a woman should prepare for Waxing

Grow your hair to the desired length (5-10 mm). This will allow all vegetation to be captured and removed. Do not shave two weeks before the procedure. Longer elements are more painful to remove. They should be trimmed to the desired length. If they are too short, the procedure should be postponed for a few days.

Do a light exfoliation 2 days before visiting the salon. After removing dead cells, intimate wax will adhere better to the surface of the epidermis. It is also a good prevention of ingrown hairs.

Do not apply creams, lotions and oils on the day of waxing. Clean and dry skin interacts better with wax.

It is not recommended to sunbathe, use a tanning bed, sauna, bath or other procedures that may make the skin more sensitive (e.g. peels or aggressive scrubs) 24-48 hours in advance.

Pick a date in advance. It is better not to epilate during menstruation. The epidermis becomes more sensitive during this period.

The day before, check the body for inflammations, rashes, abrasions, injuries and viral lesions. Protruding moles and spots should be seen by a specialist beforehand.

Before the treatment, take a shower without detergents. Wear loose clothing made of natural fabrics.

If you have a low pain threshold, a mild anesthetic may make the procedure more comfortable. Consult your cosmetologist about it in advance.

A few hours before epilation avoid alcohol and caffeine. They can increase the sensitivity of the skin.

Types of wax for waxing

Hot (hard)

Suitable for epilation of small and most sensitive areas. Handles tough and thick vegetation well. Better adhesion, removing even the shortest elements. More often used in the face, bikini line, and underarms.

Hard wax is heated in a wax melter to 50-60 ° C. The composition warms the epidermis well, opens the pores and simplifies epilation, making it less painful.

Hot bikini wax is removed without the use of paper. After cooling down, it turns into a dense elastic film. The master picks it up with his fingers and pulls it off the skin with a sharp movement.

Careful!

It is dangerous to use hot wax at home. It can cause serious burns, allergic reactions and pigmentation. Do not risk your health.

Warm (soft, cartridge)

It has the highest adhesion (grip) to the skin. When heated to 40 degrees, it softens, deeply enveloping the hair and gripping it at the root. Warm wax is a thick mass. It does not harden on the skin and remains sticky. Wax is applied with a spatula and removed with paper strips. Good for removing vegetation on large surfaces - chest, back, arms, legs, as well as soft, downy hair of any density.

Cold

These are strips that have been soaked in wax. They are ready to use. Cold wax does not require heating devices and consumables. It melts at the temperature of human palms. Inferior to the first two in effectiveness, especially when removing stiff, thick and strong hair. It is not suitable for the face and deep bikini.

Hot Wax (hot wax) - for delicate areas (face, bikini, underarms).
Strip Wax (warm wax) - for large areas (arms, legs, chest).

What is the difference between waxing and sugaring?

Depilation male is generally a safe procedure. But it has some limitations. Contraindications for guys are the same as for girls.

Epilation should not be performed when you have:

Parameter Waxing Sugaring
Material Wax Sugar paste
Technique Applied in the direction of hair growth, removed - against it. Applied against hair growth, removed in the direction of growth.
Speed of application Goes faster. A wax strip removes vegetation from a large area at once. Takes longer, especially on larger areas. Sugar paste is removed in short sections. It may not capture all the elements the first time and the procedure will have to be repeated (possibly several times).
Temperature Wax is warm or hot. Room temperature paste (can be slightly warmed).
Number of applications Can be applied to the skin only once. Sugar paste can be applied multiple times.
Price Lower. Higher.
Result Works well on short, stiff, shaved elements. Sugar paste requires a slightly longer length (about 5mm) for a perfect grip.
Working comfort Works in all conditions. Sugar paste can be affected by the temperature and humidity in the room. Sugar paste can become "naughty" due to unsuitable conditions.

Important!

Waxing - epilation of wax.
Sugaring - sugar hair removal.

Techniques to perform Waxing for women

The master thoroughly cleans the skin of impurities with a special solution.

Next, the skin is powdered with talcum powder or powder. This eliminates excess moisture and provides better adhesion.

The heated paste is applied with a spatula in the direction of growth. The paste is spread in a thin, translucent layer.

A cloth or paper strip is applied to the still soft wax. The specialist presses the strip against the skin and runs his hand over it for a firm grip on the mass. It is not needed when using hard wax.

The technician pulls the skin taut with one hand and quickly, in one movement, tears off the strip against the growth. This allows the hair to be removed from the root without tearing it off.

The specialist immediately presses the cleaned area with his fingers so that the pain subsides. He then examines the skin for any remaining elements. Sometimes, tweezers may be used to finalize.

The residue of the mixture is removed with a tissue and the skin is lubricated with antiseptic and soothing lotion.

How the Waxing procedure is performed

Before scheduling your waxing appointment, you will have a consultation. The specialist will listen to all your preferences, explain how the procedure will be performed and tell you how to prepare your skin for waxing and how to take care of it afterwards. You can ask him/her any questions you may have. Be sure to inform the specialist about your illnesses, medications and allergies.

Turning to our clinic, you can count on a professional, careful and delicate treatment. Our masters follow all norms and protocols. They know well the peculiarities of each type of wax, know how to act in difficult cases, and remove even the most subtle and inconspicuous elements. In our work we use certified wax compositions from well-known brands. Your comfort, health and safety are above all for us!

Skin care after waxing

Even if the procedure of waxing is carried out flawlessly, the first time there may be increased sensitivity of the skin, slight redness and soreness. This is a normal reaction. It will go away within the first 24 hours.

Use healing products based on panthenol, aloe vera and chamomile extract to relieve inflammation and irritation. Moisturize your skin regularly to avoid dryness and flaking. To prevent ingrown hairs, scrub the skin once a week, but not earlier than 3-4 days after waxing.

Warning

Do not remove ingrown hairs yourself. It can be dangerous. Use the services of a professional beautician.

During the first 24 hours after Brazilian depilation, refrain from:

  • sunbathing, going to a tanning salon

  • scrubbing

  • friction (loofah, hands)

  • physical exertion

  • sexual intercourse

  • visiting a sauna, bathhouse

  • taking hot showers, baths

  • wearing tight synthetic clothing

  • swimming in a pool, open water

  • cosmetics containing alcohol and artificial fragrances
