Sugaring vs. Traditional Waxing
ANNAZUR uses 100% organic sugar paste — no synthetic resins, no harsh adhesives. The paste dissolves completely with water, making it the safest option for the sensitive bikini area, eczema-prone skin, and clients with allergies.
Brazilian vs. Shaving
The 48-hour rules
for post-wax skin care
Aftercare isn't optional — it's part of the treatment. Here's why it matters and what to do.
Why aftercare is critical
- Open follicles = entry point for bacteria → avoid pools, gyms, ocean
- Friction from tight clothing irritates freshly waxed skin
- Heat (hot showers, saunas) prolongs redness and inflammation
- Sun exposure on freshly waxed skin increases pigmentation risk
- Scented products can trigger reactions in opened follicles
The ingrown prevention routine
Starting 48–72 hours after your appointment, gently exfoliate the area 2–3 times per week. This keeps follicles clear and is the single most effective way to prevent ingrown hairs between appointments.

Frequently asked
The questions we hear most often — answered honestly.
How long does pubic hair removal last with a Brazilian wax or sugaring?
Most clients enjoy 3 to 4 weeks of smooth skin. With consistent appointments every 4–6 weeks, hair grows back progressively finer and sparser — so results actually improve over time. Many long-term clients go 5–6 weeks between sessions.
How long should my hair be for a Brazilian?
At least ¼ inch (6 mm) — roughly the size of a grain of rice, or about 2–3 weeks of growth after shaving. If it's longer than ½ inch, that's perfectly fine — we'll handle it. Do not trim or shave before your appointment, as this can make the hair too short to wax effectively.
Does sugaring hurt less than traditional waxing?
Yes, for most clients, sugaring is noticeably more comfortable. The sugar paste adheres only to the hair, not the surrounding skin, which means less trauma with each removal. It's also applied at body temperature rather than hot, which further reduces discomfort. Your first session is always the most sensitive regardless of method; it gets easier quickly.
What's the difference between Bikini Line, French Bikini, and Full Brazilian?
Bikini Line removes only what's visible outside swimwear. French Bikini goes deeper on the front and sides and includes a back strip. Full Brazilian removes everything — front, back, and the gluteal strip — with an option to leave a landing strip or triangle. Our estheticians will confirm your preference before starting.
Is it normal to be red or get small bumps right after my wax?
Yes, a mild histamine reaction (redness or tiny bumps resembling goosebumps) is completely normal, especially after your first few visits. It’s simply your body’s natural response to hair being removed from the root. This usually subsides within 24 to 48 hours. We apply a soothing treatment before you leave, and you can use a cool compress or pure aloe vera at home to calm the skin faster.
Can I shave between waxing appointments?
No — and this is important. Shaving between appointments resets hair to grow from its thickest point and disrupts the synchronized growth cycle that makes waxing so effective over time. It will also make your next appointment more uncomfortable. If you're uncomfortable during the growth-in period, come in for a bikini line cleanup instead.
How do I prevent ingrown hairs after waxing?
Exfoliate gently starting 48 hours after your appointment, and continue 2–3 times per week between visits. This is the most effective prevention. Also keep the area moisturized with a fragrance-free lotion and avoid tight synthetic clothing in the days following your wax. If ingrowns are a persistent concern, ask our team about our ingrown-specific aftercare products.
How often should I get a Brazilian wax?
Every 4 to 6 weeks is ideal. This schedule keeps hair in a synchronized growth cycle, which is what delivers the progressive improvement over time. Going longer than 6 weeks means more hair and potentially more discomfort at your next visit. Members receive a reminder so you never miss your window.
