Which Method is Right for YOU?
We don’t believe in "one-size-fits-all." Our experts analyze your hair texture and skin sensitivity to choose the optimal technique.
Organic Sugaring
100% natural. Applied at body temperature, removing hair in the natural direction of growth.
Best for: Sensitive skin, fine hair, pregnancy, and those prone to frequent ingrowns. It significantly reduces hair breakage compared to traditional methods.
Hypoallergenic Hard Wax
Our premium European rosin-free formula adheres only to the hair, not the skin.
Best for: Coarse or stubborn hair, Brazilian areas, and maximum efficiency on large zones like legs or back.

Why Choose ANNAZUR: Our Protocol-Based Approach
Unlike high-volume chain studios, we don't rush your service or treat you like a number. We rely on strict clinical protocols to ensure your safety and comfort in a boutique environment.
Medical-Grade Sanitation
Every suite is sterilized with EPA-registered virucidal disinfectants. All metal tools are autoclaved per Florida DOH guidelines.
Rosin-Free Materials
We eliminated rosin (colophony) – the most common cause of allergic contact dermatitis in salon waxing.
Climate-Adaptive Care
Our products and aftercare protocols are specifically adjusted to protect your skin in Jacksonville’s high humidity and UV levels.
Advanced Pain Management
Instead of making impossible "painless" promises, we use professional skin-tauting and sectioning techniques. This mechanical support significantly minimizes pulling and discomfort compared to traditional methods.
Medical Safety & Contraindications
Your skin integrity is our priority. Please review these restrictions before booking:
Strictly Prohibited
We cannot perform services if you have used Accutane (Isotretinoin) in the last 12 months. Waxing on Accutane-treated skin can cause severe skin lifting. We also do not treat areas with active sunburns, cold sores, or infections.
Strictly Prohibited
- Retinoids: Stop using Retin-A, Retinol, or chemical peels in the treatment area at least 7 days prior.
- Medical Conditions: Inform us if you have unmanaged diabetes, lupus, or are taking blood thinners.
Normal Skin Reactions vs. Risks
Mild redness and sensitivity are normal and subside within 24–48 hours. However, improper aftercare in our humid climate can lead to folliculitis or hyperpigmentation. Our protocols are designed to minimize these risks, but client compliance with aftercare is essential.

The Florida Pre & Post-Care Protocol
Jacksonville’s humidity and sun require special care for freshly treated skin.
Before Your Visit
-
Hair must be 1/4 inch (grain of rice size). Stop shaving 2-3 weeks prior.
-
Avoid caffeine and alcohol on the day of your visit (they increase skin sensitivity).
Critical 48-Hour Rules
-
Sun & Ocean Warning:
Avoid the beach, pools, and direct sun for 48 hours. Freshly waxed skin will hyperpigment or get infected if exposed prematurely to salt water, chlorine, or high UV.
-
Stay Cool:
Avoid heavy workouts or saunas for 24 hours to prevent "sweat bumps" (folliculitis).
-
SPF Protection:
Always apply SPF 30+ to treated areas if you are heading outdoors in Jacksonville.

Our subtropical climate and high UV index (often 10+) mean your skin barrier is under constant stress. At ANNAZUR, we adjust our material choice based on the current humidity to ensure the wax never "drags" on your skin, preventing bruising and over-exfoliation. Unlike standard salons, we offer a dedicated "Beach-Ready Prep" protocol.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Brazilian wax or sugaring hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as a sharp sting lasting less than a second per strip or pull – followed by immediate relief. The first session is typically the most noticeable, because hair follicles are at their strongest. With each consistent appointment (every 4–6 weeks), the follicle weakens progressively, and most clients report a significant reduction in perceived discomfort by their 4th or 5th visit. Our low-temperature materials and skin-tauting technique reduce mechanical trauma compared to standard salon methods.
Can I get a wax or sugaring during pregnancy?
Yes, with conditions. Organic sugaring (our 3-ingredient natural paste) is the preferred option during pregnancy because it contains no synthetic resins or chemicals that could absorb through sensitized skin. Brazilian and full bikini services are generally safe throughout all trimesters. However, skin becomes significantly more vascular and sensitive during pregnancy – particularly in the third trimester. We always recommend obtaining your OB/GYN's clearance before your first prenatal service. Inform your esthetician of your trimester so we can adjust technique and timing accordingly.
Can I be waxed during my menstrual cycle?
Yes. Please wear a fresh tampon or menstrual cup for Brazilian and bikini services. Your skin will be moderately more sensitive due to hormonal fluctuations – consider taking ibuprofen 45 minutes before your appointment. There is no hygiene concern for our team; this is a routine professional situation we handle respectfully every day.
I have had bad reactions to waxing elsewhere. Can you still help me?
Often yes – and the most common cause is rosin (colophony), the resin used in most conventional waxes. We use a rosin-free hard wax formula and a 3-ingredient sugar paste that contains no synthetic resins. If you experienced redness, rash, or skin lifting at another salon, please share the details with your esthetician before your appointment. We will perform a patch test if indicated.
Can you treat areas with tattoos?
In most cases, yes – waxing and sugaring over a fully healed tattoo (healed for at least 4–6 weeks) is safe. The pigment is sealed below the dermis and is not affected by surface-level hair removal. We do not treat tattoos that are actively healing, peeling, or show any signs of raised texture or irritation.
How long will smooth results last?
First-time clients typically see regrowth beginning around 2 weeks, with full coverage returning by 3–4 weeks. By the 4th to 6th consistent session (booked every 4–6 weeks), most clients enter a maintenance phase where hair grows back finer, sparser, and slower – often extending smooth results to 5–6 weeks between appointments.
